Unit 3 of the PWDS Pharmacy Medicines Optimisation Training Programme aims to provide training and assessment that will equip pharmacy technicians with the required knowledge and skills to be able to accurately and efficiently prioritise patients who require further clinical input regarding their medicines and to communicate this effectively. We have experience of trainees undertaking the programme in various settings and specialties including the acute sector, mental health and community hospitals.
PWDS are pleased to announce that we have some continued funding to offer unit 3 (clinical prioritisation) training programme as FULLY FUNDED to trainees in the HEE South Geography for pharmacy i.e. South West, Thames Valley, Hampshire/Isle of Wight, and Wessex at the next cohort scheduled to start in September 2022.
If you are located in an area where this funding has been approved then I urge you to take advantage of this FULLY FUNDED training opportunity or support a pharmacy technician to develop this skill set and support the clinical pharmacy team.

Trainees from outside of the HEE South geography are still welcome to apply for this course at the cost of £295.00 per trainee
Trainees must have completed Module 4 of the old SW MM programme (Medicines Reconciliation) or Unit 2.1 (Medicines Reconciliation) – or equivalent and be operational in this role for 12 months as a pre-requisite to the advanced unit. Trainees falling outside of these criteria will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
All trainees will be expected to attend a programme induction which will be delivered virtually. Trainee registration will secure a place at the induction course and will allow the trainee to commence and upload the underpinning knowledge requirements which all trainees need to complete prior to induction course attendance.
