This training programme is for pharmacy technicians who have already completed an initial accreditation in the Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme (MIATP) or the UKMi Accredited Medicines Information Technician Training Scheme (AMITTS) who are wanting to undertake supplementary accreditation in additional enquiry types. If we don’t have a record of you completing either of these programmes against your username, you may still apply to enrol. You will be asked to upload evidence of appropriate previous training during your application.
This training programme is a competency-based framework designed specifically to meet the training and learning needs of pharmacy technicians working in specialist medicines information and advice roles. The programme support pharmacy technicians to demonstrate the safe deployment of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required and provides the assurance needed for safe autonomous practice.
This supplementary training programme supports existing medicines information pharmacy technicians to extend their current and future roles. It is robust, accessible, relevant and quality assured, and is endorsed by UKMi.
