What are the challenges to a truly inclusive ‘*pre-registration’ pharmacy training programme?

*pre-registration includes trainee pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacy technicians (PTPTs)

We want to explore the lived experiences of non-white trainee pharmacists/PTPTs; positive and negative experiences, including but not limited to: Bullying, harassment, discrimination, racism or microaggressions if experienced with patients’ and/or with members of staff

Who can participate?  To participate in the study, you must:

  • Identify your ethnicity as Black or minority ethnic (Asian, Other ethnicity e.g. Arab, mixed raced)
  • Work as a Foundation trainee pharmacist (2021/2022 cohort) or pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician (PTPT) (2020 onwards)
  • Work in Thames Valley (Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire), Wessex (Hampshire, Isle of Wight) or South West (all pharmacy sectors included)

Can you help? Please share with trainee pharmacists/PTPTs who are eligible to take part.

If you are a trainee pharmacist or PTPT working within the South West, Thames Valley or Wessex regions, please consider completing the following survey, which should take no longer than 20 minutes:

https://healtheducationyh.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/editraineeexperience

We would appreciate your response to the survey by Sunday 31st July 2022.

Please consider participating in focus groups or interviews to share your experience – dates are available at the end of the survey.
